Outstanding Scholars
![]() Charmine T. De Leon, a consistent honor student at the Manicahan National High School, is a scholar and volunteer at the Library. She helps conduct reading lessons for students who are slow to learn. Her part-time work at the Kris Library enables her to continue her schooling in spite of the unemployment of her father, a labourer. In the future, Charmine dreams of becoming a nurse.
![]() Rumaida S. Abdullatip is the first Kris Library scholar to have graduated salutatorian at the Manicahan-Poblacion Public Elementary School, which is located in a known jump-off point of the Abu Sayyaf Group. She thanks the KRIS Library for giving her her first experience in using a real computer – as opposed to having only cardboards and drawings available for computer lessons in school. She is so thrilled by the computers in KRIS that she has decided to become a computer engineer.
![]() Marie Joy B. Alvarez graduated valedictorian from the Victoria Public Elementary School. Now on her senior year at the Manicahan Public High School, she is seen as the one likely to again graduate valedictorian. She relies heavily on the free use of the computer, books, and research materials at the Kris Library to graduate at the top of her class and pass scholarship exams in college. A daughter of a carpenter, Marie Joy dreams of becoming a lawyer.
![]() Sitti Marra B. Azib is the first Kris Library scholar to graduate valedictorian at the Manicahan-Poblacion Public Elementary School. Now a freshman at the Manicahan National High School, she wants to be a teacher to help poor students learn. She loves to read and credits the KRIS Library for helping her graduate at the top of her batch. She also counts on the rich materials of Islamic books at the KRIS Library to help nurture her faith.
