Do you have a talent for writing and you want to share this through local and international blogs, social networking sites; and even newspapers and magazines? Do you think you have that strong personality to speak about your passion for helping before television cameras, television talk shows; and radio and television forum?
Do you think you have the making of a good speaker, in possession of poise and good personality to be at ease in meeting senators, congressmen, company presidents/CEOs and actors/actresses? Are at ease meeting these VIPs while having no qualms navigating rivers, riding bancas and pick-up trucks to go and deliver books and school supplies in muddy fields and flood waters?
Or would you rather help collect books and other forms of donations; teach kids to read, research and do free use of computers or organize book drives; read-along sessions; visit cancer-stricken children in hospitals; and distribute goods in calamity areas in a low-profile manner?
If you are looking into doing things out of the ordinary and you feel your personality fits into any of the character traits listed above, then you can join us at the Kristiyano-Islam (Kris) Peace Library as a regular staff, part-time staff or as volunteer and part of our Kris Army.
From a family, relatives and friends initiative, Kris Library is expanding its work into a full non-government organization as our supporters and beneficiaries increase by the day. Although we would have wanted to stay small and low-key, but the requests for help keep expanding and we believe we can secure more help if we have you around helping us.
And since most of our volunteers are in Zamboanga or are students and employees who cannot attend to the daily needs of Kris Library, we have decided to look for a full-time and experienced professional non-government organization staff to help meet the task tasks required of Kris to include coordinating with partner NGOs and volunteers who run the Kris libraries nationwide, writing and keeping correspondence with donors and partners; and supportive media organizations; and conceptualizing programs to monitor the school standing of our scholars and to make library use interesting for students nationwide.
With our strong belief in the power of communication, our staff must also attend to the task of keeping our www.krislibrary.com website and Facebook page in operation; answering on-line inquiries and requests for partnership and help; and writing press releases and attending to news interviews and needs coverage for radio, tv and newspapers. Our staff/volunteer must have both writing and communication skills because we consider all forms of media as among our key assets to spread word about our advocacy and to reach out to donors here and abroad.
More importantly, we want all our full time or part-time volunteers to have a genuine love for children and belief in our cause of helping poor children get a good education enough for them to work long hours anywhere in the country where help is needed.
